Quinn made a sound as he bumped against the armchair blocking his retreat. He collapsed into it, gaze stuck on Tek. Trapped, nowhere to go. Tek got up on him, as close as he could without touching Quinn. His fingers twitched at his sides, eager to reach out, to slide and grip and mark.
To feel.
He went to his knees between Quinn’s legs.
His wound protested, but Tek ignored it.
Quinn’s pants, Tek heard them, felt them. Every time Quinn exhaled, the hot breath blasted Tek. Adding to the sweat trickling down his spine, dampening his t-shirt. Quinn stared at him, eyes wide, and pupils getting larger.
Tek tilted his head, Quinn’s mouth hovering over his, their noses bumping, brushing. Tek smelled him, the intoxicating scent of that soap Quinn used, mingling with the scent of him. The man.
“Tek.” His name on Quinn’s lips, it shook and reverberated down to Tek’s bones.
“Want your permission,” Tek whispered. “Need to touch and taste, but I want your permission.” He rubbed his nose against Quinn’s, heard his shuddered inhale. “Give it to me.”
“Please.”
“Permission.” Their lips touched then. Quinn gasped, and Tek swallowed the moan, fisting his hands tighter, nails biting into his palm. “Tell me yes, Quinn. Tell me I can touch you, put my fingers on your skin, hold you still and flick my tongue over your lips until you open them for me.”
Quinn shifted against him, his knee bumping Tek’s side. “Yes,” he hissed. “Permission granted.”
Fuck. The relief made Tek’s limbs shake as he lifted his left hand and touched Quinn’s nape, guided him down a bit, front and center. Quinn’s breaths were loud gasps, his lashes moving quickly though his eyes remained open and on Tek.
Tek did it, he flicked his tongue over Quinn’s, heart lurching in his chest when Quinn leaned forward, lips parting for him.
Tek leaned back, dropping his hand. “No hands,” he murmured. “Just your lips on mine. Your tongue around mind. It’s what I want.”
Quinn came to him, leaning down and down, inch by inch. “Tek…” He put his hand over Tek’s, held him tight as he brought Tek’s hand up to cup his cheek. His eyes closed then opened a couple seconds later. Straight need there. Pure want and hunger and…
Tek hadn’t ever seen an expression like that directed at him before. Never. Emotion tightened his throat, choked the hell out of him. He got up, straightening himself on his knees and Quinn moved, rubbing his cheek against Tek’s, brushing their noses.
“The last man I kissed—”
“Was not me.” Tek tightened his fingers on Quinn’s face as he confessed in a whisper, “I wish it were. You have no idea how much I want that.”
A small sound rumbled in Quinn’s throat and he pressed their mouths together. They froze at that contact. Everything centered on that, the press of their lips, the feel of Quinn under Tek’s fingers. He held himself back, let Quinn lead him, but the other man pulled back, his gaze heavy-lidded.
He touched Tek’s chin, brushed his thumb over Tek’s bottom lip. “Kiss me.”
Tek slid a hand up Quinn’s neck, and around to his nape, gently. “Stop me if you’re not trying to go where I’m ’bout to take us.” Then he took what he’d wanted for so long.
The crash of their lips together was violent, Quinn immediately opening, giving Tek his tongue. He groaned, digging his nails into Quinn’s skin, the moist warmth of Quinn’s mouth sending his pulse into a frenzy. Quinn met him stroke for stroke, hesitant at first then more confident, until his kisses turned into an all-out biting of Tek’s mouth.
Quinn kissed hungrily, like a man who thought he’d never have this again. And Tek devoured him like a man who hadn’t had it before. He held Tek as tightly as Tek held him, the nails on Tek’s shoulder marking Tek as deeply as Tek marked him. Quinn consumed him, moving both hands to cup Tek’s face, licking, sucking, every swipe of his tongue setting Tek on fire.
They breathed into each other’s mouths. Tek was beyond hard, beyond turned on. Goosebumps made his skin extra sensitive and Quinn took him over, as Tek knew he would. Every sound of pleasure, every gluttonous thrust of his tongue down, down, Tek’s throat, every pinch of his fingers on Tek’s face doing what he’d known Quinn would do…
Devastating him.
Chapter Eleven
The last time Quinn kissed another man, it’d been Xavier. He didn’t remember that act liquefying his bones and scorching his skin. He didn’t remember salivating with each stroke of tongue, moaning, shuddering with want and lust too hot and thick to contain.
Tek kissed the way Quinn liked, fucking his mouth, lifting the hair on Quinn’s arms and setting his groin on a hard pounding. He was aroused, more than he’d been in so many years.
Kissing a man again, another thing he hadn’t even considered.
Tek’s hands on him, his lips sucking on Tek, tongue invading his mouth and licking him up. And down.
Everyone should feel the way Quinn felt then at least once in their lifetime. Overwhelming need swamped him, rocked him, and he gasped into Tek’s mouth, lifting both hands to wrap them around the other man’s neck. He was at the very edge of the chair, Tek between his knees, his hands tight on Quinn’s nape.
How he’d gone from wanting Tek as far away from him as possible to fighting to get close, whimpering to get closer, Quinn didn’t know. Why he wanted Tek’s hands on him when he’d wanted no other man’s in years was beyond him. What he understood was want, and need, and hunger. For the man sucking on his tongue, grunting into his mouth.
Fuck, but it hit Quinn upside the head, left him dizzy,
He wasn’t supposed to want anyone but Xavier. He wasn’t supposed to struggle to remember how his former husband tasted. A moan tore from his throat and he bunched his fist in the front of Tek’s t-shirt, pulling away, leaning back just far enough for him to stare into the other man’s lust-filled gaze.
Tek’s heavy-lidded eyes pinned Quinn, snatching the words Quinn felt he should say. Words to deny this, whatever this was. Words to downplay the effect, like a fucking tornado, that kiss had on him. Words to build back the distance Quinn thought he needed between them.
Tek’s gaze moved from Quinn’s eyes to his mouth, making his lower belly clench. Tek touched him, the slide of one finger down between Quinn’s eyes, over the bridge of his nose until he reached Quinn’s mouth where he pulled his bottom lip back before rubbing it slowly. Quinn just let him do whatever he wanted, lashes lowered, breath sawing in and out.
“The look on your face,” Tek whispered. “In your eyes, right now.” His Adam’s apple shifted. “I wish it was permanent.”
Quinn stared at him. How had they gotten here? Is this what it felt like to want someone, this fire that ripped through him? How come he’d never felt like this before?
“I want you,” Tek confessed. “Which is so fucking crazy and ill-advised, you have no idea. But I want you, Quinn.”
Shock unhinged Quinn’s jaw. “I—”
Tek took his mouth, swallowing Quinn’s words, which were nothing substantial since his mind was drawing a blank. He sighed into the kiss, letting Tek feed him his tongue. Then Quinn latched on, taking control, pulling hard, suckling like he usually liked to. Years may have gone by, but one didn’t forget something like that. His hand remained fisted in the front of Quinn’s t-shirt and he pulled Tek closer, deepening the kiss.
Teeth clicked, nipped, bit. Fingers clutched, pinched, scratched. Quinn poured himself into that kiss, into experiencing everything as if for the first time. Tek tasted amazing, sinful, carnal even. To have more of him, to have it every day…
Quinn tore at Tek’s t-shirt, pushing it up. Talking would come after. Right this second, Quinn just wanted to feel. He’d been awakened and he wanted to feel and feel and feel…
His fingers went to his belt buckle then Tek’s were there, brushing his out of the way and quickly tearing away his belt. Quinn closed his eyes and breathed. His heart leapt with ev
ery brush of Tek’s knuckles against his lower belly.
The only man to touch him like this had been Xavier, and Quinn didn’t remember their first touch being so full of wonder and nerves and need.
Tek pulled his zipper down then reached in and touched Quinn’s erection through his boxers.
“Ugh.” Quinn’s hips lifted off the chair. He started shaking, sweating. The memories were coming, he felt them at the edges of his mind. “Tek…”
“Eyes on me.”
Quinn brought his gaze to Tek.
Under his scrutiny Tek licked his lips as he motioned to Quinn’s crotch with his chin. “I want to suck you.”
Quinn shuddered. His cock jerked in reaction. Yes.
“Let me have you.” Tek spoke while he touched Quinn again, tracing his arousal with a finger. From the base to the tip, and Quinn panted, open-mouthed. The touch was hot and rough even through the barrier of his underwear. He tugged down the elastic waistband of Quinn’s boxers, and his so-freaking-hard shaft leapt out, falling onto his lower belly with a smack, leaking.
Tek touched him, the pad of one finger to his wet crown. Quinn threw his head back and groaned. His brain was fogged, his heart thundering while every cell in his body clamored for more, for everything from Tek. He rolled his hips forward and Tek grasped him, clasping his cock in a tight fist as he stroked.
Quinn whimpered. “Tek.” He shoved himself through Tek’s fist, fucking it, pre-cum making him slick, making Tek’s touch that much better.
“Mmm.” Tek moved, then hot breath washed over Quinn’s crown.
He jumped. Tek’s mouth hovered over his cock head, seconds away from tasting him, from engulfing him.
“Take me inside,” Quinn rasped. “Give me your mouth.”
Tek did, sliding throat-first onto Quinn’s shaft.
He yelled, how could he not? But Tek kept his gaze on Quinn as he sank down and down. Hot and wet and euphoric. And Tek was moaning around him, his body shaking, as he sealed his lips around Quinn and sucked.
“Aahh. Aahh.” Quinn grasped Tek’s hair, anchoring himself. “Tek. Fuck.” He punched his hips forward, instinct telling him to get deeper. “I can’t—I can’t go slowly,” he cautioned. “I can’t be gentle.”
Not now. He just wanted to fight his way to the back of Tek’s throat, and he wanted to stay there, fucking Tek’s throat until he lost his senses and all he had was Tek.
Tek hummed and raked his fingers down Quinn’s chest. The pain sparked something in him. He tightened his hold on Tek’s short hair and rammed into his mouth, over and over. He rutted, staring into Tek’s eyes. They were bulging, his nostrils red, his mouth stretched wide around Quinn. But the look in his eyes urged Quinn forward, begged him to never stop.
He didn’t.
He plunged deeper down Tek’s throat, thankful he was sitting. He’d already lost sensation in his limbs. All he felt was that slick clasp of Tek’s throat and the pressure in his balls, urging him toward the climax he’d been flirting with since that first touch. He used his leverage on Tek’s hair to lose control, to take, to feel. The sight of his cock burrowing into Tek’s mouth became too much, and blood roared in his ears.
“Tek,” he gasped.
Tek tightened his lips around him again, trapping Quinn in all those mind-numbing sensations. He bobbed his head, drawing off Quinn slowly before sinking all the way down again. It was delicious, and the sounds of him slurping Quinn, the rough rasp of his tongue over and around his sensitive crown, that couldn’t be measured. Couldn’t be duplicated.
“Fuck. Too much.” He sped up his hips, holding Tek still as he slammed down his throat, the orgasm refusing to be denied a second longer. “Oh God. Oh shit. Tek.” The bomb at the base of his spine imploded, and he came with a strangled cry, pouring his seed down Tek’s throat.
Tek gasped and sputtered, but didn’t try to move away, and Quinn kept thrusting into him, ass clenching, body bowing, and vision sifting from pure white back to normal when his movements slowed. He stilled then flopped back onto the chair, pulling gently away from Tek’s welcoming mouth. He regretted that retreat almost immediately.
Tek coughed and shuddered, both hands flat on Quinn’s thighs. Quinn leaned forward and grasped his chin, sealing their mouths together. Tek moaned for him, tongue rolling over his slowly, like the tide at sunset, transferring the taste of his cum. Quinn licked him up greedily. The fingers on Tek’s chin trembled. He was wrung out, his limbs shaking not only in the aftermath of his orgasm, but with the realization that he’d made a huge step in letting someone else touch him. He hadn’t fallen apart, at least not from fear. He pulled away slightly from Tek, keeping their foreheads together as he stroked the other man’s jaw.
“Tek.”
“We need to talk.”
Not something a man wanted to hear when he could still smell his cum on his lover’s breath.
Tek cupped Quinn’s face. “I know you’re not ready,” he rasped, nostrils flaring when Quinn snuggled into his touch. “I know you might never be ready.” He dropped his hands and heaved a sigh before getting to his feet.
Quinn frowned up at him.
“I want your happiness.” Tek looked startled even as the words left his mouth. He shook his head, snorting softly. “Never thought I’d ever say that to somebody else. Never thought I’d be saying it to you.”
Quinn cleared his throat and tucked himself back in, ignoring the obvious proof of Tek’s arousal straining the front of the other man’s jeans.
The real world was encroaching, letting Quinn know that a happily ever after wasn’t in the cards. Not for him. He had no business starting something, not with the way he was. Not with the demons he still fought.
“Quinn.”
He glanced up into Tek’s expectant eyes. The other man was waiting. Quinn was waiting too, for the small voice inside his head yelling danger! danger! to quiet, settle down. It didn’t.
“It can’t happen,” he said, the taste of regret heavy on his tongue. “I’m in no way ready to do or be more than what we just did. I can’t.”
Tek closed his eyes, his jaw ticking. Quinn swallowed, tasting him still. Wanting him. Still.
“I was thinking that,” Tek said without opening his eyes. “But then you said it, and it fucked me up.” He rubbed his chest, a sharp circular motion. “Here.”
“I’m sorry.” Quinn pursed his lips.
Tek’s eyes flew open. “Don’t apologize,” he snapped. “I want you, yes, but I want you to be happy more. I want you to be you, more. I want you to be good, more.” He broke off and pinched the bridge of his nose, the emotion in his eyes dimming. “The truth is, as much as you can’t, I’m not sure that I’m capable. This—” he waved a hand—“is as good as it gets for me, but you…” He licked his lips. “Kissing you was something I could not miss. Getting on my knees for you was a chance I could never pass up.”
Quinn bit back another apology. He didn’t know what else to say. His hands shook where he rested them on his thighs so he trapped them between his knees, squeezed them. He felt like a teenager, like a kid, not a grown man who’d been through way too much. Tek made him feel like that, untried, nervous, unbalanced. It wasn’t a good feeling, wasn’t a welcome one either.
“I know what you’re going through,” Tek said softly. “What you’ve been through. I know.”
Quinn scoffed. No one knew what he’d been through. “How can you possibly—”
Tek caught his chin and held him tight, forcing Quinn to stare up at him. “This isn’t some empty shit people throw around to fill up the awkward silence.” His eyes darkened. “Listen to my voice,” he pleaded. “Look into my eyes, and trust me, baby, when I tell you, I know what you’ve been through.”
The shadows Quinn had always seen in the depths of Tek’s eyes shifted. The bleak image he stared into could’ve been Quinn’s mirror.
Haunted and hunted by memories.
Tek’s appearance was so much like Quinn’s he had
to take a moment and just breathe. Yes. Tek knew what Quinn had been through. That familiar agony could not be faked. The horror could never be manufactured.
His hand trembled when Quinn touched Tek’s belly. He kept his palm flat there, feeling him.
“Quinn.”
“Tell me.”
Tek gazed down at him, throat working. “I spent three years inside Rikers Island. I was quite popular.”
Oh Jesus. Quinn sank his fingers into Tek’s belly, digging in, holding him. He spoke so nonchalantly, no inflections, but Quinn still heard that bitterness. Still tasted it as though it was his own. “I’m so sorry.”
Tek’s teeth appeared, but Quinn knew better than to classify the gesture as a smile. “This is the part where you ask me why I was in there in the first place.”
Quinn didn’t even think about disappointing him. “Why were you there?”
“Killed a man.”
As one would say my favorite color is blue, or today is Sunday. Killed a man. Quinn watched Tek’s chin lift a fraction, watched his jaw tighten, and watched his shoulders stiffen as he prepared for the blow Quinn was supposed to drop. No way could he top Tek’s.
“Why?” Even to his own ears, Quinn sounded off suddenly. As if he’d been thrown off course and was scrambling to find the right road to take. “Why did you kill him?”
Tek shrugged. “It was him or me.” He shifted as though he wanted to get away from Quinn, from them.
“What?” Quinn eased his grip, relaxed his fingers enough for Tek to step away from him when in reality, Quinn wanted to yank him close enough to hug, to kiss, to protect. He licked his lips. “Tek—”
“Bet you’re wondering just who the fuck you’ve let into your house, huh?” Tek’s mouth twisted.
